Science Advisor

As a Science Advisor, you will:
Provide science leadership, technical expertise, and regional coordination to the Council and, internally, serve as task lead of Council science staff to provide leadership and coordination of scientific needs to support regional ecosystem restoration within, between, and among Council members; Ensure integration of regional based outcomes and priorities into each Council directed project and utilize science to document successes and indicators of change, as well as integrate adaptive management into projects to mitigate uncertainty; Coordinate the Council's Monitoring and Assessment Workgroup to develop guidance to members on monitoring, modelling, and other best available science practices to meet the Council's goals and objectives and to report on outcomes of restoration investments; Oversee and coordinate external science review of potential Council project and programs as part of the project/program vetting process and track progress of Council directed projects. These efforts are in support of RESTORE Act requirements to make funding decisions using best available science; Draft and coordinate funding requests with the Director of Ecosystem Restoration Programs to provide broad science support to the Council. Experience:
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience or General experience for this position includes:
Developing, maintaining, and advancing a science guided approach to regional ecosystem restoration; AND Ensuring a robust framework for capturing performance results , and translating project outcomes to non-technical audiences ; AND Developing and maintaining data systems and protocols needed to house all required data (e.g., ecological data, metadata, and grants information). Time After Competitive Appointment:
Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a nontemporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
