Job Concepts:

To supervise custodial crews in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitary conditions, and appearance of state buildings and institutions.
Level of Work:
Supervisor.
Supervision Received:
General from a higher ranking Custodian Supervisor or agency supervisor.
Supervision Exercised:
Direct over Custodians 1 and 2.
Location of Work:
All state agencies.
Job Distinctions:
Differs from Custodian Supervisor 1 by responsibility for direct supervision over a custodian crew composed of 8-15 Custodians performing custodian duties in state buildings having between 160,000-300,000 square feet.
Differs from Custodian Supervisor 3 by lack of responsibility for supervising a custodian crew composed of 18-25 Custodians and subordinate Custodian Supervisors performing custodian duties in state buildings having 320,000-460,000 square feet.
Note: When job assignments do not fall exactly within the above criteria, allocation decisions will be determined on a case by case basis.
Examples of Work:
Supervises the work performed by Custodian Supervisors and Custodians in directing floor maintenance operations in large agencies with numerous buildings and custodial employees.
Assists administrators in the preparation of service-related budgets, if required.
Keeps and maintains time, attendance, cost effectiveness building services, and floor maintenance records.
Makes recommendations to supervisors concerning new cleaning solutions, floor maintenance equipment, and related floor maintenance matters.
Conducts in service training classes for Custodians, Custodian Supervisors, and housekeeping personnel in proper methods of custodial and floor maintenance.
Performs related duties necessary for the proper maintenance of floors.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
