A leading world producer of high performance plastics with a portfolio of over 30 brands in over 1500 formulations used in hundreds of applications with locations on five continents has an opening for a Process Improvement Engineer.
Applies engineering principles to design, modify, or develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment or processes used in processing products.
Analyzes equipment and performance to determine optimal plant operations. Will design and make appropriate increase design recommendation as business dictates.
Coordinates all required storage tank inspections and repair work with the maintenance department. Provides back-up assistance to the maintenance supervisor for these activities.
Plays an active role with Enterprise Barge Fleet Manager in coordinating local ship yard repairs to the site barge fleet. Tracks required barge inspection and repair work for the site barge fleet.
Determine feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors. Provide technical information for Treatment Services and Logistics regarding process change, line modification, storage candidate, and pre & post treatment process to prepare equipment/lines for different process for test-burn approval package.
Provides technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations which affect long-range plant and product engineering planning
Completes small capital project SCOPE development and interpretation as required for process instrument or health, safety, and education performance improvement.
Develops and implements project activities through the coordination of efforts of subcontractors, maintenance, production departments, and other operational personnel. Perform Scope activities which include, design, design review, establishes timeline, material procurement, resource allocation, project execution, coordinate effort between all involved parties, monitor/track progress to ensure adherence to schedule. Attend status meetings to ensure safety, and quality compliance.
Tracks procedure and process changes utilizing Management of Change form (MOC) to document the coordination and communication to appropriate personnel as to the stages of implementation till completion.
Completes Hazard analysis regarding changes in process or equipment design to ensure safety. Collaborates with personnel from other departments such as maintenance, unit operators, and technical support to review process and perform problem identification.
Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards.
Utilizes knowledge of equipment and machine capabilities to develop action plan to increase the reliability of the unit. Recognizes problems and opportunities to formulate action plan(s) for obtaining/surpassing unit standards and achieving production and quality goals.
HS&E and supervisory responsibilities are included in this role.
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Engineering. (Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred);
Minimum of 2
years of chemical or industrial plant experience;
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and react to changing priorities;
Ability to interpret mechanical or electro technical drawings;
Demonstrated ability to detail and improvement initiatives of processes/procedures;
Strong knowledge with commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within specialty chemical manufacturing/packaging processes;
Knowledge of lean tools as well as experience with WCM processes and/or lean transformation preferred;
Problem solver with ability to work with tight deadlines;
SAP experience a plus.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
