Manages the company's Employee Relations staff and handles and/or resolves associates' workplace issues and coaches the company's managers in the proper handling of associate issues by performing the following duties for a geographical area of responsibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Partners in various business unit meetings
Creates a business partnership with managers
Facilitates and mitigates risk during the voluntary and involuntary termination process
Manages unemployment claims and proceedings with external agencies
Serves as a risk manager regarding Employee Relations issues in assigned geographic area
Encourages an environment that promotes retention
Ensures consistent application of company policies
Resolves workplace issues and complaints
Effectively manages and develops staff
Implements human resources policies to meet organizational needs and comply with state and federal laws
Coordinates EEOC responses and litigation documentation; serves as a liaison with outside legal counsel.
Conducts investigations as needed.
Provides guidelines and oversees management of human resources activities with managers and supervisors in areas such as performance review and employee relations
Resolves problems requiring senior management intervention
Provides data for development and maintenance of human resources information systems to ensure record keeping and reporting requirements are accurate and timely
Analyzes trends in turnover, hiring, promotions, separations and grievances to determine support or action needed Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and program
Secondary Duties
Conducts management training as needed
Promotes a consultative culture in department
Promotes continuous process improvement
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises two or three employees in the Employment or Employee Relations Departments and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; six to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
