Job Description
This position is required for routine registry operations of OLOLRMC. This person is a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) and experienced with cancer registration. This position will independently perform abstracting for all cancer types.
Responsibilities
Essential Function: Abstracting, Coding, and Staging (90%)
Standards
  • Perform case abstraction by reviewing medical records and translate clinical information into standard codes to record diagnosis, tumor characteristics, staging, and treatment, involving in writing a summary in the text fields to support the codes for all cancer types.

2. Essential Function: CoC Accreditation and Compliance (10%)
Standards
  • Works in collaboration with CoC Program Manager to maintain compliance with CoC standards defined under Data Quality.

3. Essential Function: Education/Quality Control (5%)
Standards
  • Participates in monthly NAACCR Webinar Series to promote ongoing education and to stay informed of current coding/staging guidelines. Successfully completes the post-webinar quiz after each viewing and maintains CE certificate in compliance with LTR requirements.

4. Essential Function: Productivity (5%)
Standards
  • Takes accountability for own work performance and communicates with Cancer Registry Director when procedures change and make adjustments as necessary.

Qualifications
CTR (Certified Tumor Registrar) certification required.
3 years experience in tumor registry may substitute for the CTR credential.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
