Baton Rouge Charter School for children with Dyslexia seeks a highly motivated Special Education Paraprofessional to provide 1:
1 support for a student and overall support to our academic team for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED and completed two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education (48 college credit hours); or received an Associate's degree (or higher) from an accredited institution of higher learning; or a minimum score of 450 on the ETS Parapro Exam.
School-related experience is desired.
Ability to maintain a professional level of confidentiality concerning personnel and students.
Ability to perform the physical demands of the position.
Physical demands may include walking and standing to a significant degree, lifting, kneeling, stooping, squatting, crawling, bending, balancing, crouching, reaching, grasping, head and neck movement, and movement across midline.
Possess motor coordination, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, alertness, precision, speaking ability, auditory discrimination, and tactile discrimination.
Must have accurate hearing and visual acuity including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Performance
Responsibilities:
Duties may include, but shall not be limited to:
Assist with feeding, toileting and hygiene procedures, and other non complex medical procedures as deemed necessary by the nurse and IEP Committee.
Collaborate with the school nurse regarding the student's medical support.
Travel with the student throughout their school day to provide needed individualized support.
Attend meetings as requested by teacher or administrative personnel.
Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom.
Provide bathroom and related breaks for teachers.
Assist teachers in the preparation of classwork and instructional materials through tasks such as making copies and assembling materials.
Other duties as assigned by the Special Education Coordinator.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
