This Professional Counselor position is for a vacancy located in our Residential Inpatient Facility.

Applicants may be asked to serve a probationary period that may be anywhere from 6 months to 24 months.
Salary may be negotiable depending on the chosen applicant's level of experience.

Qualifications:
Licensure as either a Licensed Professional Counselor or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist by the Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners; plus two years of professional level counseling experience.
Job Concepts FUNCTION OF WORK:
To provide intensive developmental and therapeutic assessment and treatment in serious or complicated cases that require a range of therapeutic and intervention skills.
LEVEL OF WORK:
Advanced.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Broad from a licensed behavioral health professional or higher-level manager or administrator.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
May provide functional supervision to lower-level counselors and other direct care providers.
LOCATION OF WORK:
May be used by all state agencies.
JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from the Professional Counselor 3 and the Social Service Counselor job series by the presence of licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
Differs from the Professional Counselor 5 and other supervisory counselor jobs by the absence of supervisory responsibilities.
Examples of Work This clinician position provides clinical assessment and treatment of clients admitted to the inpatient residential substance use treatment facility.
The clinician may evaluate and determines appropriateness of referrals/admissions when a bed becomes available.
The clinician completes comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, screenings, treatment/counseling via individual/family/group therapies, as well as discharge plans for patients and families as needed.
The clinician also works on an interdisciplinary treatment team in order to provide thorough and comprehensive care, making recommendations for treatment plans and assisting in formulating therapeutic activities.
Additionally, the clinician attends annual and PRN trainings and webinars to improve competency in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of substance use disorders.
