POSITION PURPOSE A leader for the Agile Release Train (ART) who possesses a strong understanding of Agile and can execute Agile processes and manage it.
This position will work closely with Program Management, Architecture and Solutioning, Quality Assurance, DevOps and Delivery staff to directly impact the Enterprise's ability to meet PI goals.
The Release Train Engineer will be the master organizer of the Agile Teams' workload for each Program Increment (PI) and will define the agenda for and orchestrate the activities during each PI planning session.
This position is responsible for tracking ART dependency mapping, milestone projections, and the identification and regular publishing of metrics which define ART success.

Work to guide and coach others (scrum leaders) about the ART and Lean-Agile practices.
Assign, coordinate, and review work and activities of Scrum Master personnel.
Oversee the ART and the SAFe framework to ensure its functioning and productivity.
Reporting status updates and metrics to senior leadership on the performance and efficiency of the ART.
Interfaces directly ART Leadership in negotiation milestone projections.
Facilitate risk management of the ART.
Work to define working agreements for the ART.
Support the Program Management and Solutions Activities when necessary.
OUTSIDE RELATIONSHIPS:
Contact with contingent worker contractors to ensure timely resource onboarding and communication.
Reviews Attends outside technical meetings as directed, making presentations when necessary QUALIFICATIONS Education Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Computer Science, or related field is required Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
Work Experience 7 years of information technology experience is required and must include 3 years of practitioner experience leading Agile / Scrum projects.
This experience may include serving as a Program Manager, Release Train Engineer, Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Agile coach.
(May also include experience in Agile / Scrum development methodologies & tools (SAFe preferred), DevOps / continuous deployment / integration process & tools, test-driven development, in test automation, Project and program management, Rapid prototyping, Code versioning and/or code merge.
) Experience in Agile Processes and procedures (including SAFe framework, metrics, and in the implementation of Agile Release Train).
Management and/or Agile Coaching experience is preferred Experience in identifying, defining, quantifying, and solving project-related issues on a regular basis.
Should have experience using creativity/innovative approaches to resolve issues despite minimum lead times and with minimum requirement definition for changes or projects of major proportions.
Preferred to have experience correlating requirements and information from multiple sources, anticipating both current and future processing and management information needs, analyzing their potential impacts, and creating new technical solutions for these needs.
Skills and Abilities Requires knowledge in the field of data management, computer systems, systems analysis, programming, and development/maintenance process for large complex systems.
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to create and deliver presentations to organization management including senior management are required.
Preferred to have demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple, interdependent project teams and maintain program oversight with minimal management oversight.
Ability to demonstrate presentation and facilitation skills working with key stakeholders and management including executive management preferred.
Experience in interpreting and explaining specialized or complex material into information consumable by the public preferred.
Preferred to have demonstrated ability to critically analyze business information and process flows, gather relevant requirements and generate business, functional and technical specifications needed for successful delivery.
Preferred to have demonstrated ability working with a project team to help shape policy and to make complex decisions involving new applications, systems studies, software purchase requirements analysis, business evaluations, cost effectiveness innovations, installation decisions, and business planning for systems that use advanced state-of-the-art technology.
Preferred to have demonstrated ability making decisions that require significant use of extensive technical, functional, leadership, and managerial skills to maximize benefits, while minimizing impacts on all external/internal information systems and headquarters/field personnel.
Licenses and Certifications Certified SAFe Program Consultant or SAFe Release Train Engineer preferred Scrum Master Certification Level 1 or 2 (CSP, PSM I/II) preferred PMI Agile certification preferred ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Coaches multiple scrum teams to become self-organized, cross-functional and highly efficient teams that deliver high-quality products.
Facilitates program-level events such as program increment (PI) planning, backlog creation/grooming, prioritization, stand up meetings, estimation, showcase and retrospectives.
Ensure that Program Agile processes are fully executed.
Demonstrates complex problem-solving abilities; identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement new ones.
Collaborates with Product Owner and business leaders to plan roadmap execution based on estimates and capacity; also identify risks to the plan.
Collaborates with Scrum Masters and ART Leadership to remove impediments.
Facilitates documenting, publishing and executing an ART continuous improvement plan (based on retrospectives).
Publishes ART metrics to management and stakeholders.
Coaches and mentors scrum masters in scrum adoption and continuous improvement.
Develops, manages, and builds strong relationships / partnerships with clients, vendors, peers/other teams, and staff to ensure a high level of understanding of program goals and objectives.
Provides regular reporting and visibility on program statuses and is responsible for the facilitation of the program steering forum.
Maintains oversight of underlying project teams in coordination with individual project managers, identifies necessary resources in advance and assigns tasks and timeframes to facilitate successful completion of identified projects within the scope of assigned programs.
Mentor junior-level Agile professionals (scrum masters) in areas of professional development and skills enhancement.
Actively pursues personal skills development to ensure growth and the ability to demonstrate a high level of quality and productivity.
Actively participates in the aligning work and work habits with the organization's strategic and complementary tactical plans.
The strategy and tactics are to be responsive to and properly aligned with the organization's mission, goals, and objectives.
Understands departmental goals and objectives and delivers work products to contribute to those goals.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
